Ben Helfgott a Holocaust survivor holds a candle on Holocaust Memorial Day. The event was held on the Millenium Bridge in London 2013. Using the theme 'Build a Bridge' the small and dignified event was a reminder to those who think that genocide can't happen on this scale; that it can and it doesn't need much for people to descend to such acts.

The London Ice Sculpting Festival took place in Canary Wharf at the weekend. Some fascinating sculptures and artists from all over the world. I thought the one above had a bit of Eric Gill about it. Very good work and a freezing cold day!

The Lions Part mummers perform their Twelfth Night celebrations on Bankside outside The Globe Theatre today, 6th January 2013. The Holly Man arrived by boat and Beelezebub, Father Christmas and various other characters performed songs and traditional wassailing. A great time was had by all. Wassail!
